UofL Could Be Hurt Financially By Felner

July 9th, 2008 · 5 Comments

That’s right. WHAS11’s Adam Walser has finally put the story we’ve been digging through for weeks on the teevee. And through him we discover that Felner never produced final accounting for two huge Carnegie Corporation grants worth more than $1.5 million. That forever prevents the College of Education at the University of Louisville from receiving Carnegie funds. UPDATE: Carnegie tells us that it’s URI that is impacted, not UofL. We were merely repeating what Adam Walser reported in his story. But we wanted to get this corrected.

After re-watching his attorney’s comments about being one of the most well-regarded people in his field, we can’t help but shake our head. The past week has certainly made that statement seem less than solid. We actually feel sympathy for Felner’s attorney at this point.

There’s a bunch more.

Just watch the video after the jump…

And for those who can’t watch YouTube at work:

Isn’t it interesting to note that the mainstream media is now reporting that Felner’s troubles date back to his non-profit foundation’s foibles in the 1990s?And isn’t it interesting to find out that if the University of Louisville didn’t use proper procedures to monitor and administer grant monies Felner was affiliated with that the school could face major troubles? Yeah.

Told ya so.

Shared through an agreement with WHAS11 reached in 2007. Please visit WHAS11.com for more on this story and to watch other reports. We’ll link to this video on the WHAS site when it hits the internet.

“Felnershocks” Like earthquake aftershocks, you just never know where they’ll be felt next.

I wonder if anyone besides Felner and his attorney see Felner as “well-regarded” in his field or a “rock star” in the academic world. Upon close inspection of his vitae, to people who know how to look at them, his scholarship is unimpressive and the grant-acquisition questionable.

He is unquestionably dishonest. So, when people say the man moved the College in national rankings so dramatically in only two years after his vote of no confidence, the question is, just how did he do this?

    WC,

Felner is now more than a rocking star. He made the school of education ranks number one now. A great way to go, Bobby.

Some one need to investigate how he fired, or forced overweight women from the College, and especially from Dean’s office.
