SurveyUSA just released polling data on the KY-04 House race. Republican Geoff Davis leads Democratic opponent Michael Kelly by 13 points with a margin of error of 4.2 That means Kelley, who has raised like $15.00 and probably spent less than any Davis opponent in history is having a lot of impact after very little effort.
54% Geoff Davis (R)
41% Michael Kelley (D)
5% Undecided
What if the Kentucky Democratic Party actually had money to spend on a Kelley race? What if Michael actually had money and wasn’t afraid to sell out to PACs and special interests? Davis’ seat wouldn’t be so safe if either of those circumstances were in his favor.
This polling data is great news for Bruce Lunsford. If 41% of Northern Kentuckians are so displeased with Republicans that they’ll vote for an unknown candidate like Michael Kelley? Just how imagine how they’re going to turn out for a Democrat they do know who faces Mitch McConnell.
