George W. Bush, the man so many Republicans want to avoid like woah, will headline a fundraiser called the President’s Dinner tonight for Mitch McConnell and the National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee. The event is bringing in a reported $12 million dollars. This is on top of the more than $1 million Bush raised for McConnell in Louisville in March 2007.
Fancy, isn’t it? Standing side by side with Dubya, the greatest presidential failure in U.S. history. Because calling him “one of the great presidents in the history of the United States” wasn’t enough. And saying you’re the “strongest supporter” of Dubya when it comes to the Iraq debacle wasn’t enough.
What was that about not being out of touch with Kentuckians again? We hope McConnell continues to tie Bruce Lunsford to Barack Obama because Kentuckians have more than four months to grow more and more disenchanted with failed Bush-McConnell policies. Man, where’s a pink tutu and some photoshopping when you need it?
