No I don't want that DINO-saur, Larry Clark, to remain in any kind of leadership position.

I agree with your "argument" due to me continually getting on my soapbox and saying it's time for the current leaders, and legislators, to be voted out of office. Whether it's House leadership or an elected official.

I want change and hopefully so does she. I hope she doesn't go lockstep with Jody Richards, cause he damn sure needs to go too!

Joni rocks. She has a good working relationship with the speaker, as well as with the rest of the General Assembly. She is respected as a legislator, and she wears awesome red shoes. What else could we possibly need?

Would you rather have Larry Clark-- a man I've heard a great deal about the past 24 hours-- or Joni Jenkins?

Pretty clear she'll be replacing him.

But to kind of respond to you: I'd argue that having a competent leadership team/caucus would help put working together as Kentuckians ahead of partisanship and corrupt self-interests.

Jenkins has tight relationships with Republicans and has a history of working in a bipartisan manner. Which can't be that terrible.

Must make one correction though ..

You said "It’s high time we put working together as Kentuckians ahead of partisanship and corrupt self-interests."

She said "It is very clear to me that the House Democratic Caucus must have a five member leadership team that works together for the benefit of the entire Democratic membership"

Might be petty for pointing this out or maybe I'm turning into a communist or socialist. but you said the RIGHT thing "working together as Kentuckians, she said the standard partisan statement of working for only the democrats.

If she wins, in the end, nothing will change. It will be partisan politicians who don't care about Kentucky's citizens, only care about their own selfish party self interests. And as long as David Williams and his lock step voting group of 23
are in power, they will obstruct anything the House tries.

Because I'm too lazy to log in to make an update, I'll go ahead and respond to the dozen or so emails we've received asking if we're glad Jody Richards made a public statement in support of Joni.

Yes, we're glad. Jody should be congratulated for taking a stand for competent leadership and for moving for positive change in the Commonwealth. We're always harsh on the dude but this is a rare moment. It's totally out of character for him to stand up when he doesn't need to or doesn't have to. So, many thanks.

[...] My favorite long sleeve t-shirt that I own is a “Larry Clark for State Senate” t-shirt. Its from 2004, but its union made in America so it lasts longer, is more comfortable, and more useful than most t-shirts. It was from that race where people thought Larry Clark might lose to that crazy “I hate gay people” guy, but didn’t. Turns out, Larry Clark isn’t that great of a guy anyway, and Joni Jenkins is challenging him for his Leadership Post. Better for Joni to do this than anybody, because she’s a better Democrat, plus shes from Louisville, and that means somebody from Louisville will be in leadership.
