True Meaning of Pictures: Shelby Lee Adams’ Appalachia will be playing at the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft next Tuesday, June 3 at 8:00 P.M. $5.00 or free for Louisville Film Society and KMAC members. [KMAC, Film]

We called this ages ago. The re-election campaign of Rep. John Yarmuth (D KY-03) is taking over the former Obama headquarters in Louisville. Since the Obama campaign has abandoned Kentucky once for all. [Politicker]

Oh, and Trey Grayson rightfully criticizes Governor Beshear for excluding the Secretary of State’s office from having the opportunity to appoint rotating members of the Executive Branch Ethics Commission. Kind of silly to ignore, really, since the SoS is the state’s chief elections officer. [Politicker]

Tons more after the jump…

Kentucky Democratic Party Conventions are this Saturday, May 31. It’s your opportunity to participate in the process to select the KDP’s delegation to the Democratic National Convention in Denver this August. Any registered Democrat may attend a caucus in their county or legislative district (if you live in Louisville or Lexington). Everything starts at 10:00 A.M. [KDP]

Louisville’s most hated Mayor for Life has released his fancy budget recommendations or whatever and it’s a doozy. He’s allocating hundreds of thousands of dollars for Louisville-area churches while pushing pocket change to agencies and programs that desparately need funding. Imagine that. [The 'Ville Voice]

Charlie Crist, the current governor in Florida, is attempting to fight rumors that he’s a known homosexual and is releasing a “sex tape” of him making out with some actress to prove he likes the ladies. WTF. Jim McGreevey Take 2. These closet cases need to just stop trying and quit caring. [Pinke]

Now the right wing is trying to eat former GOP henchgirl Morgan Wilkins alive for agreeing with the lefty devil Keith Olbermann. Seriously. For real. Morgan was once K.O.’s “Worst Person in the World” in 2006. Now this. Consider our minds blown. People are literally suggesting that the girl be court martialed as a result of her interview with a right-wing blogger. [BGRS]

The American Printing House for the Blind, located in Kentucky, is taking its traveling exhibit to Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. The Educational History of Blind People will be in the rotunda of the Russell Senate Office Building June 17 – 19 in honor of the APH’s 150th anniversary. [APH]

I am curious as to how the EBEC is formed, whether its authority is statutory or if it was created through a constitutional amendment. I am also curious to know whether or not Beshear’s changes to the appointment process, done with a stroke of the pen and without approval of the legislature, is legal.

I would say that Treytor Grayson ought to request an AG’s opinion, but we all know how that would turn out. Perhaps Grayson ought to go file suit to block that executive order.
