Scary Barack Obama Will Ruin Your Life By Stealing Your Giant Republican SUV!

May 19th, 2008 · 3 Comments

Barack Obama says that the United States can’t continue to consume in an out of control manner and then expect the rest of the world to be okay with it and Brett Hall freaks out. Oh noes! They’re gonna take our SUV (or Mercedes, in Brett’s case, which we support– because everyone knows German cars are better than our American hoopties) and guns!

Barack’s going to take away your SUV?!?

Barack Obama tells an Oregon crowd over the weekend:

“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK.”

“That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen.”

If you think you’ve been nannied half to death by the politically correct crowd, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

Brett, chief spinster for the RPK, spins out of control about how terrible Obama is and takes things out of context to make his point. He conveniently neglected to exclude the paragraph before the bit of text he quoted from that AP story. Why? Because it made clear that Obama was suggesting that the U.S. lead by example on global warming by developing new technologies. And because it proves Obama wasn’t suggesting Americans shouldn’t have the right to personal choice re: the vehicles they choose to drive.

Here it is in full:

Pitching his message to Oregon’s environmentally-conscious voters, Obama called on the United States to “lead by example” on global warming, and develop new technologies at home which could be exported to developing countries.

“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,” Obama said.

“That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen,” he added.

Can’t quote things accurately, of course, because that wouldn’t suit the agenda of spin. Next thing you know we’ll learn that Barack Obama is actually black. OH NOES!

Maybe we should compromise and just take all Hummers off the road. They are disgusting and may as well have attached the bumper sticker “Ugly American on board”.
