Just a bit ago, here in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, failure of a presidential candidate Mike Huckabee attacked Barack Obama by making a stupid joke. During his speech to the National Rifle Association in Louisville, Huckabee heard noise behind him. He thought it was in good taste to say, “That was Barack Obama, he just tripped off a chair, he’s getting ready to speak, somebody aimed a gun at him and he dove for the floor.”
Not exactly his shining moment, eh?
The Republican Party is afraid of Barack Obama (clearly) and spent 99% of today bashing him.

why is it that the gun folks think it’s funny to joke about shooting folks, or maybe shooting them or whatever? much less, about shooting a presidential candidate.
my mother WAS shot once, by a white dude with a serious drug problem. repeat: it was a WHITE DUDE. not the stereotype you expect, eh?
so, quit joking about it, assholes. and don’t tell me she should’ve had a gun to shoot him before he shot her. GET REAL. history tells us that violence DOESN’T WORK.

This Republican doesn’t fear Obama. I guess it would probably get me branded as a racist if I said, “Please don’t throw me in the briar patch.”
I’m no great fan of McCain and am really thinking of getting a “Nobody in ‘08″ sticker, but Obama’s got enough baggage to fill a whole Amtrak car.
As opponents go, I’d much rather face Obama than Hillary. The negative ads practically write themselves where “Barry” is concerned.

I remind we live in the most violent “civilization” in the western, industrialized world (by a disturbingly large margin). You know why? The mass cultural proliferation of & easy accessibility to small arms.
I fully support the second amendment, but I also support informed, thoughtful commentary. Try it sometime… it’s fun.

Hmmm… I wonder who will win this battle: The Swift Boat Liars and the Pro-guns-in-criminals’-hands types Versus the Chicago machine and Chicago gangs. I think I know whose kneecaps are coming off in advance. I’m on the gangs’ side for safety. :)

Wait til you see McSame’s B-52-filling baggage on display — It will put Obama’s carry-on-size baggage to shame. Obama’s stuff is already out and consumed. Poor McSame — he’ll have to deal with all his past crooked dealing coming out anew, as many voters had forgotten about all that!

I would love some proof of this. Washington D.C. has LOTS of handguns. The NRA morons love to spout “facts” about guns that have no basis in reality. My favorite is “crime is high in England because they don’t have guns.” The British violent crime rate is less than a tenth of ours and unlike here where most violent crimes are committed with handguns that actually kill the victims, most violent crimes there are beatings.
