Today Greg Fischer held a press conference (in which he read his speech off a piece of paper, no less) in reaction to Bruce Lunsford’s latest campaign ad. Beyond being dishonest about the fact that he’s given money to Republicans in the past ten years (he gave money to Anne Northup in 2000, since he wants to play semantics), he goes on a rant about how terrible it is that Bruce has given money to Republicans and endorsed Ernie Fletcher. Things that he’s apologized for repeatedly.
Puppies and rainbows, right? Take a look at the video:

Look at the 15 or so employees standing behind Fischer for the duration of that press conference. Were they on unpaid leave for those eight long minutes or did Fischer’s campaign reimburse the company for their payroll costs? If neither is the case, Greg Fischer has stumbled through yet another campaign finance violation and yet another corporate contribution.
You can chalk it up to being minor (it is… and the overall cost for that labor and associated losses is probably less than $500), sure. But with dozens upon dozens of other minor campaign finance violations– especially those involving corporate contributions– wouldn’t it be wise to avoid all appearances of impropriety and run a super-tight ship?
Amateur hour. Make. It. Stop.
P.S. Crowley just reported that the Enquirer is endorsing Lunsford tomorrow.

I have it on very good authority that when Bill Clinton was in Frankfort a few weeks ago, a number of state employees (specifically the Department of Education) attended his rally and did not charge their time away from work to annual or compensatory leave.
This to me is a lot more egregious because my tax dollars were paying for those state employees to listen to the former Perjurer-in-Chief.

Not My: I believe you mean like a billion state workers and 99% of the legislature.
Someone should be filing a lawsuit over that crap.
