In case you missed it: Edwards Endorsed Obama

John Edwards endorsed Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards endorsed Sen. Barack Obama on Wednesday at a campaign event in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

“The reason I’m here tonight is because the Democratic voters have made their choice, and so have I,” he told the boisterous crowd.

“There is one man who knows and understands that this is a time for bold leadership. There is one man that knows how to create the change, the lasting change, that you have to build from the ground up,” Edwards said. “There is one man who knows in his heart there is time to create one America, not two … and that man is Barack Obama.”

Nice move by the Obama campaign to basically get the media off the West Virginia landslide. Do they break out Al Gore after Obama wins Oregon next week?

Heard Edwards’ comments on XM’s POTUS 08 shortly after they interviewed one of the Bluegrass Roots bloggers. Interesting angle on the Palau. Too bad the XM host kinda blew it off.

I’m an Obama supporter, but Clinton still wins it in Kentucky. There’s no way around that.

After a landslide victory in West Virginia, the Clinton Campaign today announced that former Kentucky Governors Wendell Ford, Paul Patton, John Brown, and Julian Carroll are endorsing Hillary for President. The endorsements demonstrate the widespread support Hillary continues to receive throughout the Bluegrass State. Edwards endorsement for Obama doesn’t impress me.

That was announced a couple days ago. Nice spin, though.

Paul Patton, the disgraced former governor who killed more than three decades of Democratic power.

Julian Carroll, direct ties to the Bluegrass Conspiracy.

John Brown, I like him… but again, disgraced former governor. His son, however, is one of the most solid people of character in the Commonwealth.

And Wendell Ford… never met an African American he didn’t want to call the n-word.

Riiiight. THOSE are the people I want on MY team when I run for office. Smooth move.

why did he not endorse before NC voted?

  • 8 jake // May 15, 2008 at 12:38 pm

    Dunno.

Why are lame Democrats telling people they’ll vote for John McCain if Hillary doesn’t (she can’t) win?

    It’s all a mystery.

    Daniel-
According to people in NC that I know, Edwards is not all that popular there anymore. So, that’s probably a factor….

And the people that say they would vote for McCain if Hillary doesn’t win would probably vote for him in the general anyway since they’re dumb enough to say things like that.

I don’t know how anyone could vote for Walnuts over Obama.

Actually isn’t it JYB Jr. who has the ties to the Bluegrass Conspiracy?

I have a cousin who played a central role in that book — and they still haven’t found her after all these years.

But getting primo Reds tickets during the Big Red Machine days was a nice perk. :-D

Yup. Too many things to list, though, and to be politically correct (AKA I couldn’t type that much), I figured it’d be best to refer to him as a disgraced former governor.

That said, he seems to have redeemed himself and has spent a number of years giving back to the community in ways we can only imagine. I can’t say the same about the others (not because they haven’t done the same, I just can’t think of anything)
