Can you believe it? The Jefferson County Teachers Association endorsed Chris Thieneman in the 3rd District Republican Congressional primary. That’s kind of a big deal in Louisville politics and indicates that Anne Northup may have a tougher primary fight on her hands than she (or anyone else) expected. As Rick reports, Thieneman will be airing television spots soon. [The 'Ville Voice]
OH MY GOD!!! Michelle Malkin a “conservative hero” ?? WHAT? Do you hear that laughter? It’s the entire world falling apart because someone called Malkin a conservative hero re: her remarks about crazy Jim Bunning’s handling of the mortgage crisis. I’m almost peeing. This is too hilarious. [BGRS]
Kenneth Stepp, one of the many candidates for U.S. Senate, bought an email list and is begging for skrilla. If you don’t give Stepp all yer cash then women, sick kids, union workers, troops and veterans “lose.” They’re all gonna die if you don’t give him all kinds of dollars! [Mark Hebert]
Barack Obama was all up on Capitol Hill with Ben Chandler or whatever yesterday to talk about presidentin and superdelegates and stuff. Thanks to Heeb for the fancy linkage. Go lookit the video of them being all touchy and smiley. [MSNBC/TIME]
Some Republicans are pissed that Billy Harper was given a seat on the state board of education. They even blame him for Ernie Fletcher’s loss to a Democrat. Seriously. The stories of why Ernie got canned by voters (any Democrat could have beaten him– let’s get real, even the RPK was sick of his crew) get more interesting each and every day. Hoo boy. Jake,
I understand you have an agenda but you just look foolish when you talk like Chris has a shot in the primary. Keep it up and you might join the likes of Mark Nicholas in blogger infamy.

Doofus– If you clicked the link, you’d see I was saying– almost verbatim– what Rick said on The ‘Ville Voice.
An agenda? I don’t care about the 3rd District race in the least. John Yarmuth has re-election wrapped up.
You need to stop trying to read between the lines. Because you’ve no idea what I meant when I said “Anne Northup may have a tougher primary fight on her hands than she (or anyone else) expected” – I could mean that Chris will get 5 votes or 25% of the vote.

I’m confused. I thought conservatives hated anchor babies.

Yarmuth! has the race wrapped up?
I would be willing to put money down that the 3rd district is by far the closest federal race in Kentucky this year. I consider the 3rd district the only true flip a coin race we will see.

i can tell that you secretly agree with bunning on the mortgage issue.
how’s that for reading between the lines?

Hey, no one’s saying I disagree with him. I think if anyone was ignorant enough to get an ARM? Then… tough tit. Call me insensitive or whatever.
THOUGH… I know tons of folks were forced into ARMs and they shouldn’t necessarily have to suffer at the hands of money-hungry and over persuasive brokers.
