Former presidential candidate John Edwards’ campaign manager, David Bonoir, is endorsing Barack Obama today. The campaign is holding a conference call with former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle later in the morning to discuss it.
From the release:
John Edwards ran a campaign focused on fulfilling a promise to America’s working families that they could once again trust their leaders to put them first. As I look at the presidential race as it stands today, I see one candidate who has proven he can bring the kind of change to Washington that will mean more jobs, better pay for American workers, and health care for every single American. That candidate is Barack Obama.
Here’s betting Edwards’ endorsement is just moments away.
UPDATE @ 1:45: Obama just picked up the endorsement of former U.S. Rep. Ken Lucas (D-KY04) along with labor man Chris Sanders of Louisville. Lexington attorney and former KDP Chair Bill Garmer and women’s leader Kim Garmer also endorsed Obama.

Would not be surprised in the least if supers pick up the pace for Obama, perhaps to the point he hits 2,025 once Oregon tallies its votes.

Oh, please let the price for Edwards’ endorsement be the VP slot.
As unlikely as Hillary getting VP is, it still gives me nightmares.

Yeller, you Democratic elitist!

Edwards has said he does not want the VP spot. Perhaps he’s gunning for AG?
I wouldn’t be surprised if a Hillary superdelegate gets serious consideration. Ed Rendell from Pennsylvania wouldn’t be a bad choice.

Hmm. Elitist: supporter of “persons enjoying superior entellectual, social or economic status; the best or most skilled members of a group.”
Even if you’re referring to users of “a size of type on a typewriter, equal to 12 characters per linear inch,” I still say:
Damn right I’m an elitist.
No more dumbasses in elected office.

Ed Rendell is a political hack and I don’t think even the people of Pennsylvania like him.
I think the only feasible V.P. possibility is Wes Clark. He will lend foreign policy gravitas to the ticket, and he’s considered an individual from the Clinton camp, although thankfully not tarred with having said b.s. remarks during the primary campaign.

Crowley reported that on his blog back on April 23. Just sayin’.
