KY Women: Fischer Campaign a Slap in the Face…

May 3rd, 2008 · 8 Comments

to anyone in Kentucky who cares about women’s health.

Diane Brumback of Kentucky Women is taking Greg Fischer to task on women’s issues:

Greg Fischer has yet to tell the good people of the Commonwealth what he stands for and how he will address the numerous problems facing Kentuckians if elected to the U.S. Senate.

Greg Fischer has yet to tell the voters something meaningful about where he stands on women’s health issues.

So, Mr. Fischer, what are you going to do?

It is now abundantly clear that you have no answers.

Oh snap.

She’s mad because he doesn’t address Breast Cancer? While “cancer” has overtaken heart disease as the number one killer of all Americans under age 85, breast cancer isn’t the number one killer of women. Heart disease, domestic violence and poverty are the top killers of women. The lifestyle that leads to heart disease can be directly linked to 1/3 of cancers. The lady is so ignorant she mentioned poverty as a symptom and not a cause. It has been shown in a few medical studies that poverty leads to obesity and a diet high in processed foods and empty carbs. This “slap in the face” is totally laughable. If she wanted to point the finger correctly, she should look at he US Government and it’s refusal to do full toxicology studies like the U.K. that banned a ton of products it linked to cancer. A lot of those banned product find their way into American cosmetics, chemical dyes and toys. The US got into bed with big business as they moaned about the bottom line. Wow. It takes guts to anonymously attack a woman going through treatment for breast cancer.

So what’s he going to do about men’s health issues? That’s as legitimate a topic for discussion as women’s health issues.

Thanks Jake. You’re a dear, dear friend but I’ll take it from here.

To anon (askquestions), perhaps you would like to contact me at dianebrumback@aol.com. I’ll send you my phone number and then we can meet and discuss who is ignorant and what is laughable.

Give me 5 minutes and then you’ll understand how my surgery for breast cancer, my recovery, the treatment and my battle to save my own life is nothing close to laughable. Allow me to help you understand about horrific tests women diagnosed with breast cancer must go through. Give me just 5 minutes to help you understand what my two little girls have gone through because of my breast cancer.

I can assure you that in spite of your ridiculous, uninformed comments, I will still be here to fight the battle and help save women’s lives who are diagnosed with breast cancer including possibly yours, your mother, your daughter and any other woman in your life.

God gave me a second chance but he didn’t say he was giving me time so to be quite blunt, I don’t have any time to waste on candidate Greg Fischer if he isn’t committed to helping save the lives of women.

If you are one of Fischer’s political operatives, then I’m now extremely comfortable with my opinion.

The second anonymous comment provides a valid point about men’s health issues. And we could go on and on developing a lengthy list of issues that Greg Fischer has not addressed. That list would be comprised of issues personal to each of us. Mine happens to be breast cancer.

This US Senate race is very important to our future. It would be great to have the candidates take part in an intelligent debate outlining their plan to address issues the voters are passionate about. At this late stage in the game, that is impossible. Greg Fischer has made it impossible.

But this is just my opinion and this is where I stand on this topic. Believe it or not, I’m open-minded. Breast cancer didn’t steal that from me so feel free to send my message on to Mr. Fischer. I’d be happy to speak with him about this as well.

    My best.

    -Diane

    Did you know?
Bruce Lunsford supports the Nazi party!
Well, he hasn’t publicly condemned it. Let’s write an article trashing him!

Same logic. Retarded, honestly. Having breast cancer, while it is horrific, does not give you a free pass on everything you say. I bet anything that this was Stephanie Horne’s idea, or Diane is a Republican.

Delete my comment if you feel the need, Jake, but just know it’s the truth.

As a Fischer supporter, I’m shocked, embarrassed, and disgusted that someone, acting under the brave veil of anonymity, would bring a third party into this conversation, especially without proof.

I may not be right 100 percent of the time, but — whether I’m right or wrong — I have the decency to post my name with my comments and at least try to back up my assertions.

Take a shot at Greg Fischer. Take a shot at Diane Brumback (as stupid as that may be). Just don’t drag anybody else’s name into this.
