Okay. We can stop with the political jokes now. Heh.
Big Brown, the horse Barack Obama picked to Show, won the Kentucky Derby. Hillary’s pick, Eight Belles (the filly), finished second and had to be euthanized just after the race.
Then Steve Beshear got all nervous during the trophy presentation and forgot (we’re being generous) to offer condolences to the folks affiliated with Eight Belles.
Yay. The Kentucky Derby.

i’m never watching the derby again. it’s like our version of bullfighting. barbaric. and i don’t want to hear about how the horses love to run. let them run in a field somewhere. that was one of the worst spectacles i’ve ever seen.

Horse racing is a beautiful sport but it is not or the faint hearted. Without racing these beautiful animals would never have existed. You are welcome to watch horses run only in a field but you have no right to tell the rest of us we can not watch. Why don’t you whimper about all those animal we slaughter for food? Do you think it’s pleasant for them? What do you think happened to horses when they were wild?

Now you horsey people know how I felt on 2/18/01.
Dale would’ve been 57 last Tuesday, the 29th.

By the way, in 134 Derbies how many horses were euthanized? This is the only one I know about. How many dogs and cats are euthanized every day, let alone in 134 years? Should we ban having dogs and cats too?

SAD for Eight Belles, but all that is kinda like a fitting tribute to BILLARY Clinton’s ending campaign.

mrun, i’m not sure who you think is telling you not to watch. if you’re referring to me - i merely said i won’t be watching again. you are free to do as you please.
i’ve been a vegetarian for 19 years and i have two rescue animals… so really, i’m not quite sure what you’re saying.

also - what happens to horses in the wild is nature running its course. this is… rather different.

Osi,
Hillary ain’t done yet. She will end up being very close in elected delegates and will in fact have more votes from the electorate than Obama. This will give her a very convincing argument to make to the superdelegates at the convention, especially given the fact that she now has a better chance of winning the general election against McLiberal than Obama does. Obama’s racist anti-American preacher and his terrorist buddy have combined to torpedo his campaign. Wait and watch.
I think the powers that be among the Democrats realize this. Nominate Obama, and they’ll be watching McLiberal be inaugurated next January. Nominate Hillary, and we could have our first female president.
The political comments being associated with the euthanization of the filly are tacky and classless.
I didn’t watch the Derby — so how did Beshear’s gaffe compare with the Luv Guv’s mangling of the Japanese horse’s name a few years ago?

Not My: The Luv Guv did much better.
Ms. P: Yay! Another vegetarian! I’ve been meat-free for 19 years, as well.

Well, M. P. you go me on that one. I assumed you wanted to end horse racing and were a meat eater. Some sports involve risks and the jockeys are often hurt too but I do believe most race horses are treated well and want to race. It is too bad about the overpopulation of cats and dogs though. Hillary knows more about the needs of our country to get on the right track as in the 90’s than Obama and McCain put together. Look into their pasts and you will see a couple of guys who have been in the pockets of people who are corrupting influences. REZKO for example. Did you ever wonder why Monica Lewinsky’s best friend, Linda Tripp, worked for the Penagon and just happened to be taping their conversations?

Football treats their players badly after retirement. How many have said they won’t watch football anymore?
Hockey pucks kill people. A baseball killed a coach before.
My condolences to the Eight Belles camp but to those of you who even dare to compare her tragic death to that of the Clint0n campaign, I say shame on you!

Not My Real Name, Obama is the presumptive nominee — Hillary is done.
