Wondering why nothing ever happens at the Federal Election Commission?
Surely it’s not because both Democrats AND Republicans are playing politics. Surely it’s not because “the federal government spends more money at the Department of Labor regulating union elections than is spent at the FEC regulating all federal elections.”
Exciting that we’ll be having elections without any oversight.
Right?

Oh, come on! McConnell’s position that all 4 commissioners be confirmed as a block is the BIG deal killer here. As it should be. It’s ridiculous to pretend “both sides” have an equal share of blame. Reid offered a compromise and McConnell wouldn’t play ball. Ditch Mitch is the go-to boy for blame here.
