What’s Larry Clark Got to Hide?

March 12th, 2008 · 4 Comments

A whole flipping lot, that’s for sure. Note to readers: If you have stories, hit us up. We’re like vaults and love the gossip.

And this week he’s proved yet again that his word is worth jack shit.

According to Barefoot & Progressive (by way of KFTC), Rep. Larry Clark is a first-rate hypocrite who deserves quite a bit of blame for the Stream Saver bill that failed to make its way out of committee by just 2 votes.

Larry made it a point to tell dozens and dozens of constituents that he supported the bill. Dozens. Then flip-flopped by voting against it because he said it was in the “wrong committee.”

We’re in total agreement with B&P. Call Larry up and let ole boy know how disgusted and ashamed you are to have him as a state representative. Tell him what a coward he is.

And don’t forget to thank him for the stink he caused last week.

Am I the only one here who is getting tired of hearing Democratic elected officials coming to Democratic clubs and other meetings and talking to us and telling us they want our opinions and then not listening to our opinions?
Am I the only one where it is starting to ring very hollow that Republicans are such terrible people? That Republicans do not care about the little guy? Damn it Democrats if you care about the little guy why dont you prove you DO then! Legislators grow up and quit playing games with peoples lives!
I do not agree with most Republicans at all on many issues, but many many Democrats are also bought and sold and could honestly care a less what we think. There are Democrats in Frankfort who have guts, but they are few and far between, and everyone knows who they are anyway. They have backbone. But if you dont have the guts to tell me what you think to my face, forget it, you do not deserve to be in Frankfort.
It is frustrating to go to Frankfort to lobby for the Stream Saver bill and hear the legislators tell us that the bill does not deserve the chance to be heard. Any bill deserves an up or down vote in the full House. Clean safe drinking water is a moral issue. I am a citizen not a paid lobbyist. I go to Frankfort because I give a damn about our state. I thought that is why the legislators were there as well.
That does not mean they have to agree with me. It does mean that they should allow a bill out of committee and allow a vote on it. If they dont agree with the bill vote against it, campaign against it, but why are they scared to allow a vote me taken? I assume they do not want to be on record against or for something. What a leader!
The polluting of the streams and headwater creeks would never be allowed to happen in Jefferson County or Fayette County. But in Knott, Harlan, Letcher, Leslie, Perry, Pike, Martin and other Eastern KY counties are still in Kentucky and they still have Kentuckians living there. Clean Water is a right not something one should have to fight for.
We have an very weak selfish Democratic Party in Kentucky right now. Perhaps the only way to have a strong Democratic Party in Kentucky is to have more Republicans in the House. I think too many of the Democratic legislators like Larry Clark and many others are getting way to pig headed and comfortable. Change is needed. Competition causes legislators to listen. Maybe there has not been enough of that lately.
When over 1200 citizens, not paid lobbyists show up in Frankfort to support the Steam Saver Bill and legislators cannot get the bill out of committee, then we have legislators who either are totally inept or they simply do not care about the will of the people.
If they do not care about the will of the people, why should I care if they are Democrat or Republican? The answer is clear to me now! I do not.

He’s also one of the idiots wanting to pass the “Crony Protection Law of 2008″, aka HB 653, which will do special retirement favors for elected officials!
