More of the back story: Metro Dems initially pressured the Lunsford campaign to commit to the “debate” within hours (of the day they approached the campaign) and when the campaign couldn’t, Lunsford was uninvited. He was later re-invited a couple Fridays at the Ford Dinner for whatever reason.

Even though I’m not out there supporting any candidate for U.S. Senate, I think it’s pissy politics the Metro Democratic Club is playing.

Speaking of Bruce Lunsford, his horse Tessa Blue has earned a race-best $452,800. In case you were wondering, that’s more than most people make in 15 years. [Blood-Horse]

He’s a very wealthy man and it’s possible he’s not doing exactly what I want to say he’s doing. (It sucks telling the truth sometimes. Ugh. We don’t like it.)

He’s doing fundraising and has hired a great finance staff. Though he doesn’t need to do it, it’s one thing he deserves credit for.

Elkhorn: Honestly, Metro Dems was less than flexible in setting a date for the “debate” with all campaigns. They only approached some of the candidates on the night of the Ford Dinner to let them know they were “invited” to attend. So knowing that information, I didn’t even bother to ask what Bruce will be up to specifically. But I know he’ll be at another Metro Dems meeting next month or in May, where he’ll no doubt be subjected to much tougher questioning than anyone will experience tomorrow night.

(And Bruce does have several fundraisers scheduled, but it’s my fault for not remembering when they are. )
