An individual who attended a gathering at Greg Fischer’s home on Sunday confirms powerful Democrats in Washington have, in fact, tried to pressure him out of the race.

It’s no longer just Fischer staffers who are spilling the beans– it’s the candidate himself:

I was especially interested in learning that he had been contacted by the “Democrats” in DC and asked to not run and support Lunsford. He said he turned them down and provided us some good rationale. His top three issues were the economy, healthcare and the war. This is consistent with what seems to be happening nationally.
