Michael Cassaro’s campaign for U.S. Senate has hired controversial Louisville blogger Ted “Dr. Ted” Shlechter of The Bridge as his communications director.
Seriously.
Ted. The man who shoves his recording device in your face. The man who has questioned our integrity and credibility for weeks and weeks while fuming that we’ve stolen his readers away from him. He’s Mike Cassaro’s communications director. Oh man.
Could life get any better?
Come on, Mike, you may not have a chance in this race but you don’t have to send the entire blogosphere into fits of laughter.
UPDATE @ 4:30:
Why, yes kiddies, life can get better. Just learned that Dr. Ted was turned down by Greg Fischer’s campaign a few weeks ago when he begged for the same job. Just as he was turned down by John Yarmuth’s campaign a couple years ago, only to make an about face when writing some weird stories on his blog. Go figure.
We love Kentucky politics.
UPDATE @ 8:05:
Okay. A billion of you have asked to read Ted’s email. No, it’s not a joke.
So.
Peep it after the jump…
To Friends of Andrew Horne:
I am sorry to hear about Andrew’s withdrawal from the Senate race. He is a good man who has given much to this community, commonwealth, and county.
I would like you to consider Dr. Mike Cassaro for your U.S. Senator.
I am working with the Cassaro for Senate Campaign, as its communications director.
I decided to take this position for three reasons. One, Dr. Mike Cassaro is totally against the war. As he told recent audiences:
“We are racking up the largest debt in American history, fighting a war that’s not working.”
He thinks that the war was a mistake from the get-go and that we should leave Iraq as soon as it is feasible.
Mike is also an economic populist. He wants to rebuild the American economy. As he also told recent audiences:
“We can once again become the most effective workforce in the world. We can bring jobs home and rebuild the American economy.”
Third, Dr. Cassaro is totally committed to health care reform. Dr. Mike has repeatedly said:
“I will act (as your Senator) to pass health care reform that works for everyone. As a physician, I have the front-line experience and the expertise to bring about this change.”
To know Dr. Mike is to like him. He would be a great U.S. Senator. He would be the kind of Senator that we would want.
If you are interested in supporting Dr. Mike, please let me know.
Thank you so much for your consideration in this matter. Hope all is well with you and yours.
Yours,
Ted Shlechter

What a hack that guy is… and if I’m not mistaken, a friend of Steve Henry! Hmmm… is there a story there?
