Hillbilly: You're right. But don't underestimate his ability to lose.
Bruce may dry up some fundraising efforts locally but he doesn't have netroots support (not that it helps THAT much, but it helps) or support of veterans, labor or anyone else who has bothered to examine his past. If Bruce wins the primary, which is likely as of today? The careers of several Democrats will be over in a snap and there will be a mass exodus of party support. Just what we need to wake people up.

Some things are certain: Fischer is a loose bobber floating around the weird democratic pond. (Hopefully he knows better than to waste his money if he stays in the race.) And Andrew Horne has a lot of climbing to do and a lot more fundraising to do if he wants to be taken seriously by uninformed voters who act purely on name I.D.

If Bruce is the nominee... Dems will not rally behind him. Not enough to win, anyway. I've heard it from cabinet secretaries, party activists, party officials, everyday voters. A lot of people will sit on their hands as they watch our sacrificial political lamb go to slaughter. A lot of people will be just too burned out to participate. At least with Andrew Horne (and to an extent, Greg Fischer) Democrats could find it in their hearts to stand up and fight.

Some information about the Millionaires' Amendment

Here's the FEC's brochure about the amendment along with guidelines of limits, notifications and such

Here are several articles about current challenges to the amendment

Jake:

This one's Lunsford's to lose.

Two questions: If Bruce is the nominee will Dems get behind him? How much?

Secondly, someone asked in an earlier comment an interesting question. Given the rich man's clause of the campaign finance laws (or whatever its called), assume Lunsford waits to pour money into the contest 'till late in the season. Is there anything to stop that? Couldn't he pour his own wealth in when it's too late to move it much? Or are the rules hard to game in that way given the realities of the campaign?

This is one I'd be happy to cross post if you'd post on the rules... not that you need my help.

Keep up the good (if misguided) work. ;)

Did you bother READING what I wrote?

The word "disappointing" was used.

That said-- nearly $90k in the final two weeks (TWO WEEKS) of December is a great head start. That's not spin.

Would Fischer have to report for Q4? His campaign wasn't official until January. Looking at Cassaro's numbers would be a waste of time.
