David Hawpe Hits the Nail On Head

December 12th, 2007 · 2 Comments

David Hawpe hits the nail on the head with Mitch McConnell today:

McConnell is working furiously to localize his re-election campaign. He wants it to be about the federal handouts he arranges for Kentucky.

He doesn’t want it to be about his working partnership with President Bush over the past seven years, as they have sunk the country deeply into debt, rigged the tax system on behalf of the well-to-do, appointed industry agents to incapacitate federal regulation, botched school reform, pursued the dismantling of Social Security and embarrassed this country before the world with a shameful response to Hurricane Katrina.

Most of all, he doesn’t want his campaign to be about the decision to invade Iraq and the mess he helped this Republican administration make of the seemingly interminable aftermath.

What a load of intellectually devoid garbage. Hawpe shows he’s nothing but an ideological McConnell hating hack.

    Just a couple of points:

Who the hell ever tried to dismantle social security? Bush certainly didn’t and I don’t think McConnell was ever very war on Bush’s reform ideas.

How on earth can we blame Mitch McConnell for FEMA’s perceived failures?

As for McConnell’s “decision” on Iraq… wasn’t that the same decision that Hillary Clinton made?

    Hawpe is a moron!

It’s on record that the Criminal Bush Regime attempted to dismantle Social Security, but was turned back by a public not having any of it. Bush got electrocuted by the Third Rail, and kept going back for it. Very instructive when trying to get a handle on this loser.

As for Hawpe, I always scratch my head at how he can be so right on national issues, but so wrong on local ones.
